Haptic Qibla (“the App”) is developed by Teguh Hidayatullah (“we”, “us”). Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information the App uses and how it is handled.
Summary
- The App works offline. Your location is processed on your device only.
- We do not collect, store, or sell personal data on our servers.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not require an account.
Information the App Uses
Location (required for Qibla direction)
With your permission, the App accesses your device’s precise location while the App is in use to calculate the bearing from your position to the Ka’bah in Makkah. Location data is used only for this calculation and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
Camera (optional)
With your permission, the App may access the camera to show a live preview while you align your phone. Camera access is optional — the compass, haptic guidance, and audio guidance work with location only. Camera images are displayed on your device only and are not recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
Device sensors
The App uses your iPhone’s magnetometer (compass) and may use haptics and audio to guide you toward Qibla. This data stays on your device.
On-device preferences
Settings such as whether haptic or audio guidance is enabled are stored locally on your device (for example, using iOS App Storage). We do not receive these preferences.
What We Do Not Collect
- Name, email address, or contact information (unless you email us for support)
- Health or biometric data
- Browsing or usage analytics
- Advertising identifiers
Third Parties
The App does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection services. Apple’s system frameworks (such as Core Location and AVFoundation) process data according to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is suitable for general audiences and does not require registration.
Data Retention
Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, we do not retain user data centrally. Any on-device data is removed when you delete the App from your iPhone.
Your Choices
- You can deny or revoke Location or Camera permission in iOS Settings.
- Without location permission, the App cannot calculate Qibla direction.
- Without camera permission, all other features continue to work.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
